What church survey software is for

A pastor can guess what Sunday felt like, or ask. Church survey software is the short list of questions you want a real answer to: how the gathering went, whether a newcomer found a next step, what a class should cover next. You build the questions, you share one way to answer, and you read the replies without a stack of paper on the office desk.

Members can answer with multiple choice, a rating from 1 to 5, or a written answer. A survey can be anonymous when you want honesty more than a name, or tied to a person when you need to follow up. Members can open a published survey from the member side of ChurchConnect, so you are not begging people to find a link in an old email.

How a survey goes from draft to answers

Create the survey and give it a title people will recognize, such as Sunday feedback or a newcomer welcome. Add the questions in the order you want them asked. Save it as a draft while you are still editing. Publish it when it is ready. A published survey is the one members see.

Read the responses from the survey. This is a staff tool for questions you write. It is not a poll you buy from somewhere else and paste in. The answers stay with the church account, next to the people and the events those answers are about.

Who it is for

It is for a pastor who wants a quieter answer than the three people who stay at the door to talk. It is for a class teacher who needs to know whether the time and the room are working. It is for a board that asked “what do people actually want?” and should not have to invent the answer from memory.

Surveys are part of the Free plan. They sit beside the member directory, because a non-anonymous reply belongs to a person you already know, and beside the member app, because that is where a member answers. If the question is really a prayer request or a care need, use pastoral care instead of a survey. A survey is for a question you planned. Care is for a person who asked.

What you get

  • Surveys with multiple choice, a rating from 1 to 5, and a written answer.
  • A draft while you are still editing, and a published survey members can answer.
  • Anonymous surveys when you want the answer without a name.
  • Replies listed on the survey, so staff can read what people wrote.

How it works

  1. Create the survey and add the questions in order.
  2. Publish it when it is ready.
