What the church member app is for a person in the pew

Staff live in the directory, the events and the bulletin. A member needs a smaller door: what is happening, which group they are in, how to give, where to leave a prayer, and the messages the church sent them. The church member app is that door. It is the member home inside ChurchConnect, opened in the browser on a phone or a computer after the person is connected to your church.

The home shows the church name and the next events, with a way to say they are coming. Groups, giving history, prayers, surveys and the person’s own profile sit on the same home. A member is not handed the staff directory. They see their church, not everyone else’s records.

How a member uses it during the week

The church connects the person, usually from an invitation or from the people record that already has their email. They sign in and open My church. Upcoming events are listed with the time and the place. They can RSVP. Their groups are listed so a Wednesday study is not a rumor. A prayer can be left for the care team. A published survey can be answered there instead of in a separate form.

Giving history is the member’s own record, which matches what the office keeps on the giving page. Messages are the notes the church sent that member. None of this requires the member to be a staff user. Staff still build the events, the groups, the surveys and the directory. The member home is how those things show up for the person they were built for.

Who it is for

It is for a member who will look at a phone and will not dig through a forwarded email to find the supper time. It is for a church that wants one place a person can RSVP, see their group and leave a prayer, instead of four links that expire. It is for the secretary who is tired of being the only one who knows the schedule, because the schedule is now on the member’s home.

The member home is part of the church account on the Free plan. Texting to that member is on paid Pro, and Pro covers 500 texts. The events they RSVP to are the same events on the event registration page. The prayers they leave are the care list on the pastoral care page. The directory is the staff side of the same people. If you are starting, the ChurchConnect home page is the sign-up. This page is what your people open after they belong to the church.

Questions people ask

What is the church member app?

The member home in ChurchConnect. After a person is connected to your church, they can open events, groups, their giving history, prayers, surveys, messages and their profile on a phone or a computer.

Is it a separate download?

It is the member side of ChurchConnect, opened in the browser. Members sign in. They do not get the staff directory or the office tools.

Can a member register for an event there?

Yes. Upcoming events are listed on the member home, and a member can RSVP from that list. The event is the same one staff created.

Can a member see the staff directory?

No. The member home shows their events, groups, their own giving history, prayers, surveys, messages and profile. The office directory stays with staff.
