Galatians 5:4
"You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace." — Galatians 5:4
Paul isn't talking to people who've rejected Jesus outright. He's talking to people who claim Jesus and are still trying to earn their standing through performance — through keeping the rules well enough to feel approved. He says that posture doesn't add to grace. It cancels it out. You can't receive a finished gift with one hand while paying for it with the other.
Today, notice the moment you try to earn what's already been given — in prayer, in guilt over a bad week, in working harder to feel acceptable to God. When you catch it, stop and say out loud: "It's already paid for." Then actually act like it's true for the rest of the day.
